Bless This Home

Yesterday, with the help of a couple dear friends, we did some painting at the new house.

We painted the kitchen, dining room and play room (except the accent walls), and the living room.

Matt couldn’t really do too much yet, poor guy. I am exhausted and sore from all that I did (that I probably shouldn’t). When we got home, I sat for a bit and then couldn’t even walk without the use of my cane…which hasn’t happened in years but the growth on my foot is getting worse and worse. Standing as much as I did and doing as much as I did didn’t help.

We still have a lot to do…the main floor needs another coat, the accent walls need to be painted, the hallway and upstairs needs to be done.

Despite the daunting work ahead of us, I am excited! We spent a good half hour in the backyard when we had finished painting, taking a break before we started the clean up. It’s so peaceful and beautiful back there. Honestly, it’s a little oasis back there.

We have more painting to do still (like a lot…and yes, the thought of more painting is making me weep), and I’d like to finish lining the cupboards today too.

I cannot wait to move in and be done! The place is looking amazing. I really love the colours. I’ll take pictures when it’s finished.
