What Being a Mom Looks Like {52 Weeks of Blogging With a Purpose}

This weeks topic on 52 Weeks of Blogging with a Purpose is: What Being a Mom Looks Like.

This is what being a mom looks like, to me. The key point to remember is that motherhood looks different to everyone.

To me, being a mom looks like…

+ early morning cuddles on the couch while I have a cup of coffee.

+ pyjamas until 10am on most days, and being totally content with that.

+ trips to the park to play.

+ little boys digging in dirt and tracking it through freshly mopped floors.

+ dirty, sticky hands reaching up for cuddles.

+ messy clothes, and not caring that they’re messing – because dirty, sticky hands wanted up for a cuddle.

+ giggles and squeals, a loud chaotic house.

+ breaking up disputes when someone’s not sharing or is too rough.

+ kissing scrapped knees and wiping away tears.

+ reading story after story.

+ repetitively asking for the toys to be picked up and put away.

+ repetitively saying a lot of things, actually.

+ bed time cuddles, stories, & good night kisses. I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.

+ miniature adventures, new discoveries.

+ having more bags under your eyes from night time wake ups than bags in your closet.

+ having a tiny infant falling asleep in your arms, his (or her) little hands grasping your shirt to reassure that you’re still there.

+ seeing the innocence and wonder in the world, through your child’s eyes.

+ knowing a love so strong and so true, that nothing can compare.

  1. Perfectly sums up motherhood, especially that last line!
