Empowered!

Yesterday, I attended a meeting with our Scentsy team. I got to meet some of the other girls, in person, that I’ve been communicating with via Facebook since I joined. These ladies have offered helpful tips and advice to me, and always been willing to help out. It was truly great getting to interact with them in person.

I felt so inspired and empowered going, which is a great feeling. When I started doing Scentsy, it was with one goal in mind…to have a little extra money coming in and not have to worry about the expensive cost of day care. I also really wanted the extra money for our tattoo fund (hey, some people have trip funds…we have tattoo funds).

Since then, my goals have changed. Why I’m doing it has changed. Sure, I’ll still add to my tattoo find (of course), but now I’m seeing just how great Scentsy works for me. I can be with my kids all day. I get to be there for story time and bedtime cuddles. I can arrange everything I do around my schedule, and what’s happening with my family.

Plus? It’s helping me come out of my shell. I’m still incredibly anxious and nervous around other people, but I actually spoke out loud at yesterday’s meeting with some of my successes, shared my “why”, and some of the things I was unsure of or confused about. I came away from that meeting feeling refreshed and renewed. Thanks to my team mates, I have more game ideas for when I do home parties.

The thing that I love about Scentsy is that your team is on your side. They want you to succeed and they’ll help you do so. It’s not like you sign up and get left behind after that, at least not with our team…there is a HUGE net of help and support every step along the way. When you have a bad day and question everything, there are 50+ voices sending uplifting words your way.

So, that’s neat. I’m really happy with it all and really excited. I’ve done so well with what little I’ve put into it. Seriously, I’ve been totally distracted with NaNoWriMo and the kids – and that’s ok, because with this business you can still do that and still make a profit. In the words of my sponsor, do one thing for your business each day and watch it grow. That’s what I’ve been doing – one thing per day, breathing life into it and watching it flourish and grow.

Here’s to the rest of November!
