He Did It!

As of Friday, Matt is no longer a student! He is a certified welder!
This weekend is his first weekend off in a billion years, and we’re taking the opportunity to hang out as a family. We were going to go to the property this weekend, but the weather isn’t good at all.
Matt starts working full-time on Monday, but he’ll have evenings and weekends off {at least until he applies for a second job at a registered shop}, so we’re go to the property next weekend.
This weekend we’re FINALLY finishing up all the projects that we’ve started and been putting off, so as you can imagine…I am one happy mama. Time with hubby AND crossing things off my nesting to-do list…ahh! Sweetness!
Matt has his tickets for flat and horizontal welding. He was hoping to get more {like flex and vertical}, but due to a MAJOR opps by the schools’ part, his entire welding class lost a day and a half of certification testing time. The instructor didn’t show up at all the one day, and the second day he didn’t come until 12pm. They weren’t allowed to make up time, so most of his peers only got one or two tickets opposed to four or more.
All his classmates and him will be speaking to the dean about it, we’re all pretty irritated. I personally think the instructor should have allowed them all the time he wasn’t there for. When I was in college, that’s what they did. They let you make up the time if an instructor didn’t show.
BUT; irritations with the school aside, let’s not lose focus here: the important thing is Matt graduated and is a certified welder!
I’m so proud of his hard work the past year and a half, and he’s pretty stoked to have a career!
