House Tour: The Living Room

I absolutely adore our living room!!! So much light, so comfortable and it already feels like home! My main goal for the past 2 days has been to get the main floor livable and comfortable, so we’re not tripping over boxes or preventing Nolan from getting into mischief. Mission accomplished!

 View from the dining room. Some of those toys will eventually find their way to the rec room. Toys on every level! lol 🙂
 View from the kitchen. New ottoman that stores a TON of Nolan’s toys!
 View from the landing.
 View from the hallway!
View from the other side of the room, straight ahead is the hallway, stairs for upstairs and downstairs, guest bathroom, garage door and front door/hall closet.
This room is unpacked but it’s nowhere near “finished” yet. I want Matt to hang our black Ikea shelf above the TV, and we need to find the perfect picture to go over the couch. One day in the hopefully near future, we also need to buy a new couch and TV stand (one that is a little taller perhaps). This TV stand will eventually make it’s way to the basement. I also want to buy this bookshelf from Ikea for DVD storage etc and put it in the corner by the window, as well as a smaller cubby like bookshelf for some of Nolan’s bigger toys. Zellers has one that looks pretty good – it will go on the stair wall.
So there you have it! My lovely living room 🙂 Once we get more storage for the toys, it’ll be perfect. Right now, it’s incredibly comfortable and relaxing. When we’re watching TV, we don’t see the front door!

    Moving is so stressful – especially with a little one. Your new place looks great and with each little thing you do, it'll feel more and more like home. Congratulations!

    Whoa, that's crazy. We have the same TV stand that you guys have, and that bookcase you want is the same one we have for our DVDs, too. (Of course, we have one other bookcase like that and three of the larger size in that style for books, too, so we definitely have more books than DVDS — and those aren't the only bookcases around our apartment, just the ones in our living room.)

    @Lyndsay: Moving is definitely stressful with a little one, but luckily my SIL watched him while we did the majority of the work. He was around for a lot of the unpacking, I can tell you how much fun that was LOL! And thanks!

    @Jess: Great minds think alike!

    I love your TV and furniture. And those curtains? I like dark curtains. lol.

    @Dramatic Mama: The TV was actually on sale from Walmart for like $350, it's a Philips HD, 32 inches. We want to get a bigger one for the rec room, and keep this one for up here because it's perfect for the space! The stand was $35 bucks on sale at Walmart I believe haha. The ottoman was $89 on sale at Zellers, and the couch and end tables were handed down from my Dad 🙂 Granny bought the lamps from Sears for our wedding gift. I picked them out haha!
